Self-initiated project of a collection of twelve icons designed to be used in a public or school library context.
The goal for this project was to create a set of library icons that could theoretically be used individually on the bindings of books as a visual aid to the Dewey decimal system, or collectively on a poster as a pedagogical tool.
Details: 12 x 12'' main illustration, 2 x 2'' icon illustrations, 300dpi
Given the intended use case of these icons would be in a library context, my design concept focused on a cut paper style. After the initial sketches of the icons, I created the base shapes in Illustrator and then used Photoshop to apply the paper texture and paint in the shadows.
